Inner Veils

These recent works reference nature, spirituality and primordial vibrations. The framed canvases are both beautiful and impactful and invoke inner contemplation.

Laura Klimenchenko / Artists Statement:

My work is an inquiry into the vibration and essence of form. I seek to facilitate the emergence of subtle and esoteric qualities that tend to remain elusive to the physical eye, but which are accessible to a more subtle range of experiential and meditative capabilities. Focusing on the imprint that an object leaves on the psyche, I work to create a visual vocabulary that would reflect the pulse that lies beneath the surface of nature.

This group of paintings, “Inner Veils” aspires to go beyond the veil of the physical form and make visible that which is invisible. The inner landscapes that I have experienced in meditation become embodied through the layered acrylic washes and oil. Each piece is intended as a doorway into the inner world and as a catalyst for the viewers meditative practice. Ultimately this body of work strives to make this vision into a focusing lens through which an observer!s own inner experience can become recognized and magnified.

The paintings were created and first presented in 2021 in collaboration between Chamber Music On The Hudson and Beyond Arts for an outdoor performance along the Shaupeneak Ridge in New Paltz New York. Performing were: Mariko Anraku and Caterina Szepes, associate principle harpist and violinist, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra with poet, Akka B. and painters Andrey Tamarchenko & Laura Klimenchenko.
