The Rice Polak Gallery is excited to announce our first feature exhibition of the 2022 season. The show previews on Thursday July 7th and runs through Wednesday July 20th. The Opening Reception is on Friday July 8th beginning at 7pm.
Sean Thomas - Surface Tension
“Surface Tension” investigates the nuance and tension between clearly defined spaces and their inherent ambiguity influenced by atmosphere, time, and memory.
Necee Regis - Flight Dreams
“Flight Dreams”, by Necee Regis, uses imagery of jets and mapping systems to tap into our deep collective longings to travel, explore and soar above limited horizons.
Julie Levesque - Artic Fix
“Artic Fix” are images of receding ice sheets in the Arctic and Antarctica. Feeling helpless but also struck by the uplifting beauty of those icy, white landscapes one night artist Julie Levesque snapped images from her television screen, printed them and started stitching them together. While she can’t fix the problem of climate change alone, she can harness the beauty to make work that sparks concern and conversation.
