To The Light: New Work by Helen Grimm
Artist reception Friday July 14, from 7 - 9 PM,
Helen Grimm’s work, long known for thematic connections to earth and water, now takes flight. Always hewing a line between representation and abstraction, these paintings take inspiration from the choreography of moths – moving through the world with intention beyond human comprehension. The resulting artworks reflect a sense of fragility, ephemerality, and joyful movement. Of the new work, Grimm says, “There are times when the cohesion of our world shatters and we are forced to look at everything we thought we knew through a brand new lens. Linear timelines are actually infinite spirals. Not only are we surrounded by all that is, it is flowing through us and from us and then we discover that, in fact, we are all divine.”
