RED DANCE
OPENING SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2023 3-5PM
With an intention to anchor our community in the expansiveness of love amidst uncertain times, we share Red Dance with you and yours.
Come join us as we experience the passions and stabilities this art shares. “Red Dance” presents some 40 artists dating back to the early 1890’s including Hawthorne, Rann, Weinrich, Lazzell and on through contemporary folk and outsider art and sculpture. It is a tribute to love and creatively reflects the myriad ways love can be expresses.
Our “Red Dance” exhibition is dedicated to the Memory of Brian Alexander who died suddenly while scuba diving in the Virgin Islands. Brian and his life partner, Gloria D’Andrea are key anchors of Berta Walker Gallery, “ my special family” notes Berta. They originally helped to design & launch the Gallery and have continued to this day in keeping the heat, electricity and roof on! Additionally, they have been instrumental in safely moving the art in and out for every exhibition and often involved in complex installations. Our heartfelt love goes out to Brian and Gloria and the entire Warren Alexander family.
