FOR NOW
The gallery is pleased to present FOR NOW, an exhibition featuring selected works from our artists’ studios. This first exhibition of 2023 is an offering of paintings, sculpture, photography, and prints that consider the soft touch of winter light.
Winter in Cape Cod is spare and still. The uninterrupted light of the season insists on exposing and recording every day’s details with unadorned determination. The works in this exhibition talk about how atmosphere defines circumstance, how material responses to one’s surroundings can disrupt acquisitional methods of gathering narratives and defining objects.
In this exhibit transience and detail are laid bare, receding to memory the pentimento of spring, summer, and fall. The spaciousness and restlessness of a place away are captured in the show. Silence, proximity, time and temperature are given voice and vision. The gallery becomes a moment just for now.
