"It's About Size," the annual holiday works to exhibit at the Bowersock Gallery, is back, and as always, features perfectly sized, future heirloom works for holiday gift-giving.

"It's About Size" opens with a reception on Friday, November 25th, from 2 pm to 4pm at Bowersock Gallery 373 Commercial Street, Provincetown, Mass. and runs through January 2nd. For the first time, the exhibit will be available in its entirety on the Gallery's new website (https://bowersockgallery.com).

"It's our quintessential gift-giving collection, or as Goldilocks would say, its 'just right!'" Curator and co-Gallery owner Steve Bowersock says. "The smaller works' show has become a hugely popular event, because we make a point of gathering a broad range of subjects and medium, in size-range that makes them accessible."

The collection will feature works by stable artists and include many new, small, and midsize works.

"Given the salon-style installation, this show will feature more than double our usual works in the Special Exhibits' Mid Gallery," Bowersock. "Also, thanks to a new website, we're really excited to announce our entire exhibit will be available online throughout! So, as they say, 'you can shop from the comfort of your home!"

The exhibit includes a small collection of new pieces by Catherine Nash. Nash's works include any mix of painting, encaustic, found objects, handmade paper, and other mediums, assembled to create emotionally charged three-dimensional wall art.

"Catherine is a dedicated artist who has mastered numerous mediums over the decades, giving her the freedom to convey a true vision clearly," Bowersock says. "Each work is a window to another world, moment, or world, or consciousness, which overtime evolves along with the viewer."

There are several new, smaller works by Jeanne' McCartin, whose three-dimensional wall-hung sculpted/paintings are best described as decidedly individual. The show will include pieces from her ongoing "Concept Snapshot Series."

Steve Bowersock's moody, poignant surreal oil paintings, will include numerous new, small works and studies, along with a number of pieces from his most recent collections.

Paul Buckingham will present his classic, rich, representational florals along with a new, small series of Provincetown scenes.

The contemporary work of Kevin Kusilek will cover a lot of ground, ranging from strong, energetic cityscapes, to quiet, reflective sailboats adrift in placid waters.

"It's About Size" will also present new works by Emma Ashby (encaustics), Jeanett Beattie (assemblage), John Brickels (sculpture), and Darlou Gams (oils) to name a few.

"We have quite a few clients that come back for the small works show time and again. The reason most often given for returning is yes, the size is suited for gift giving. But more importantly, it's an opportunity to select a gift that's truly personal and unique, an heirloom rather than some mass-produced object. It's a gift with meaning," Bowersock says. "And the third reason given is, it's a great time to purchase something new for their own collection."
